Teardown: the iPhone 16 Pro in all its forms (video)

The teardown of the new iPhones is always a highly anticipated moment for Apple fans. Last year, iFixit delighted us witha microscopic video of the inside of the iPhone 15. We discovered the smallest details of the components, from the battery connectors to the pixels of the screen. The iPhone 15 Pro also hasbears the cost of a dismantling.

This year, it's the turn of the REWA Technology YouTube channel to reveal to us the secrets of the iPhone 16. It seems that Apple has brought somesignificant changesunder the hood of its new flagship. As a reminder, it is supposed to be the most repairable iPhone of all time.

A revised and corrected design

The iPhone 16 Pro sports a more imposing design than its predecessor. This increase in size is accompanied by anoticeable weight gain. But that's not the only major change. The video:

Themotherboardhas beenminiaturized, allowing a more compact arrangement of components. This densification is accompanied by a wider protective cover, probably forimprove heat dissipation.

Innovations for photography and battery

The rear photo module is expanding, notably thanks to thenew 5x telephoto lens. This is a significant improvement over the 3x of the iPhone 15 Pro. Apple is also innovating on the battery side with the addition of asteel hull, exclusive to Pro models.

The chassis benefits from a new graphite-coated aluminum structure. This modification promisesimprove thermal performance by a factor of five. Andnew camera control buttonis emerging, but its welded design could complicate some repairs.

The iPhone 16 Pro therefore brings its share of technical new features. These changes should improve performance and user experience. It remains to be seen how these modifications will impact the durability and repairability of the smartphone.
