In addition to USB-C the iPhone 15 should look like this

Next year Apple should, logically, present and market the iPhone 15. With this new phone, the Apple brand could be on the cusp of several major changes. The most important, but also the one that gets people talking the most, is the arrival of USB-C as the only connectivity solution.

Since the iPhone 5, the iPhone has had a Lightning port. This solution has never evolved, but recent European directives have forced Apple to change its approach.Bringing USB-C to the iPhone, the Cupertino company gives in and turns to a universalism not at all to its taste.

An iPhone 15 “Ultra” with a periscope lens?

According to the company's latest report, TrendForce Apple is expected to maintain its system of four back-to-school launches next year. The “Plus” model should be kept, just like the Pro Max which could change its name and become the iPhone 15 “Ultra”.

Among the changes that should differentiate the “classic”, “Plus”, “Pro” and “Ultra” models, the last two should be entitled to a RAM memory capacity of 8 GB. This development was already expected on the iPhone 14 Pro.

The two most high-end models should also have the right to arrivalof a periscope. Such a goal has been announced multiple times for iPhones without Apple ever falling behind this rumor.

Within the Android competition, periscope optics have already been used on several devices, but they are not unanimously accepted. Finally, the last point addressed by TrendForce in its report, the question of 5G.

An Apple 5G modem in 2024 only?

Arriving with the iPhone 12, it should still be present in the iPhone 15 thanks to a Qualcomm modem. The Californian neighbors signed a partnership a few years ago to ensure the production of 5G modems at Qualcomm on iPhones until 2023. Although the ultimatum will be exceeded when the iPhone 15 is released, Apple should continue to trust Qualcomm products.

In recent years, the Cupertino company has worked on developing its own 5G modem to accelerate the capabilities of the iPhone and optimize support for this new network standard.

According to information from TrendForce, developing its own modem takes time and Apple is not expected to present it with the iPhone 16, which will be released in 2024.
