The newspaperMetronewsa
published a survey carried out in France on the phenomenon game Pokémon Go. Carried out
by the very serious polling institute IFOP, it aimed to find out more about
the players concerned by what will remain as the success of the summer of 2016, and
maybe more.
We learn, among other things, that there are more female players than male players and that a
Pokémonplaces itself very far ahead of its pursuers in terms of
preference. But which one? at the same time, Le Monde published a study

The survey was carried out among1051people aged
15 years and over, at the end of last July, just after the
launch.
It indicates a strong reputation with9 out of 10 French people who had
already heard of the game, via the news or the specialized press.
Pokémon Go notably has the gift of making people talk about it without commercial effort
particular. It was in fact released abroad well before France and
generated a number of incredible stories that happened to certain hunters.
And while the game breaks an audience record,
notably at Apple and YouTube, France is no exception!
So,12% of French people participate, or 6 million
people. 30% of French people aged 15 to 35 hunt Pokémon
with their smartphone.
Among French women, 13% play Pokémon Go, while among
men, they are 3% less.
A divided opinion on Pokemon GO
The survey also asked people about their feelings about the
game. It is contrasted, which we noted in the comments of our
different items. If 68% see the gamepositivelybecause he
takes you out, discovers places and meets players, 3 out of 4 French people
think it's a hobbychildishand 72% are afraid of
gatherings created, considering that they could be at the origin of
violence and targets of attacks.

43 % vers Pikachu. then come Carapuce (20%) and Rondoudou
(17%) to complete the podium.

Geographic inequality?
Beyond the survey seen before, Le Monde has just been released
a detailed study on the location of the famous Pokestops, points of
obligatory passage to recover the precious Pokeballs. These places are actually
from the "portals" of Niantic's previous game: Ingress, of whichwe spoke here in 2014.
The article, very detailed, shows what the players noticed: a
strong disparity in the density of Pokestops between the city and the countryside.
