iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks: the Mac and the iPhone in a symbiotic relationship

As time passes, iOS and OS X are getting closer and closer.
If it exists
many applications allowing the Mac to communicate and
l’iPhone
, the arrival of OS X Mavericks andiOS 7should also amplify the
phenomenon.

After the
Apple presentation conference which lifted the veil on these new features
Is
therefore invites you to discover a little more about the relationship which continues in
becoming more and more present, between the iPhone, the iPad and the Mac:

AirDrop: and files are exchanged!

Already present on Mac, AirDrop technology allows you to exchange a file
between two devices with a simple drag and drop using wireless linking
wire between devices.

With iOS 7, Airdrop arrives on iPhone and iPad. As a result, the sharing menu
will now offer an option allowing you to exchange photos, videos,
documents…with a single click between iPhone, iPad and Mac. This should
normally be much more practical than the current passage through synchronization
iTunes, not necessarily supported in all applications, or by
file server solutions implemented in many
applications.

Plans: exchange of addresses easily

What is particularly pleasant about Apple products is the
real ecosystem that accompanies them. Since the arrival of iCloud, the iPhone,
the iPad and the Mac communicate easily to exchange Notes, Mails and others
information stored on both… With the arrival of Maps on Mac,
Apple is going a little further in integration.

As we could see during the
keynote
, whether you are looking for directions, a restaurant or an address
on the Mac, the result can be transferred to the iPhone which will then be
a joy to take you to your destination. On the other hand, it will be necessary not to be
resistant to Apple's Maps app to appreciate this functionality.

Keychain for passwords

Another major novelty, this year, Apple is launching into the management of
our passwords and identifiers of all kinds. In the manner of a
1Password, Safari combined with iCloud will manage and store identifiers, passwords
password, bank card numbers, etc.

Provided you use Safari on all these devices, iPhone, iPad and Mac,
it should no longer be necessary to remember anything to
connect to your favorite site, make online purchases or whatever
else. Of course, for security reasons, the data will be encrypted and
not even Apple will have access to it.

This new service called Keychain will also be able to generate
passwords that are more secure than what we are used to using…

We cannot emphasize enough the importance of not storing this type
information in plain text in its machine, Apple will help us move from
words to actions. One constraint however… Use Safari on your computer
office automation.

iWork in the Cloud

Apple has been offering its iWork office suite on Mac for a long time, but
also on iOS. Including Pages, Numbers and Keynote, it is available in
three iOS apps and three Mac apps.

In the fall, Apple will add the last link by offering the same 3
applications on the web via iCloud.com. So on Mac, on iPhone, on
iPad and even on PC, it will be possible to create, read, modify and record
documents in the Apple Cloud. The solution will be compatible with 3
browsers: safari, Chrome and Internet Explorer.

Synchronized notifications

Push notifications will be synchronized between different devices
Mac included. Concretely, this means that a notification read on the Mac
will no longer appear on the iPhone or iPad and vice versa. In practice, this
may seem very simple, but believe me, those who use several
everyday devices can only rejoice!

iBooks

Even if personally it is probably the novelty that seems to me the
less natural, it has its place in this inventory. While iTunes
has been offering for a long time the possibility of consulting the catalog of
books offered by Apple, it is however not possible to read them since a
application similar to iBooks iPhone/iPad simply does not exist on
MAC.

In the fall, with OS X Mavericks, iBooks will arrive on Mac with the
little touch of Cloud essential. The Mac will then be one of the same with
which the user's library will be synchronized. This will concern
works owned, bookmarks or even annotations. As for reading
a digital book on the computer...it's a matter of taste...but in
the absence of an iPad, this can actually be done!

Apple is well aware that its devices are even more efficient
when there are several of them. The iPhone and the Mac are good companions and it
seems that they are led to get ever closer to each other
in the future. We understand that Apple has a certain interest in this
story: offering practical everyday functions while giving
a real attraction to "all Apple" equipment: the iPhone, the iPad or the
Mac serving as a Trojan horse to bring other products into the
foyer.
