Google soon to be fined again by the EU? For Android this time

Google could be againreprimand
by the European Commission
, according to the Financial Times newspaper, in
in the context of a case of anti-competitive practice concerning its system
Android mobile operating system and the fact that the latter encourages
strongly use Google appson terminals on
which the OS in question is installed. This is not the first time that the
Mountain View giant finds itself sued by the EC for practicing
antimonopoly, this was particularly the case a few years ago, Google having been
accused ofpromote your Google Shopping purchasing serviceon
Android to the detriment of competing solutions. The fine reached almost
3 billion dollars, but within the framework of this new
complaint from Brussels, the sentence couldswell by almost 3 times this
figure
:

The European Commission would specifically criticize Google for abuse of
dominant position with regard to Android and the fact that the operating system
encourages people to use the applications and services of the Alphabet Plus subsidiary
than the solutions offered by the competition, which will thus limit the
possibilities and choices of end users.

This recalls two similar cases, to a certain extent, which concern
both Microsoft. The Redmond firm had been reprimanded for practice
anti-competitive approach regarding the Windows system, which came accompanied
Internet Explorer as default browser, but also Windows
Media Player as the default media player.

In any case, in the case of the Mountain View firm, for this matter
of Google apps too highlighted in Android, the requested fine
would reach 11 billion dollars, while the service
Russian antimonopoly has already succeeded in bending the American company on the
same subject, with the payment of a$8 billion fine
last year
.

It remains to be seen how the search giant reacts to this news
condemnation of Brussels.
