Last night, Apple publishedthe third beta
d’iOS 10.3, an important new version for iOS 10 and whose list
new features have been detailedin this
article. This new beta adds a new section to the Settings app
for incompatible 64-bit apps, and which follows ahardening of the alert messagewhen launching a 32-bit app.
More precisely, this new sectionlist all the days before
unoptimized appsfor their device with a 64-bit processor, and
who does notwill not work with future versions of iOS.
This section also displays a message encouraging usershas
contact the developerso that he can update his app, in order
to ensure that it continues to work with future versions
d’iOS.
A user running iOS 10.3 will be able to access this new section by going to
rendering inSettings > General > Information, and in
pressing "Applications" to display the list of apps
incompatibles 64 bits.
Pressing one of the apps listed on this pagerefers to the
App Store page of the appso that the user can consult the
last updated date and contact the developer.
This new section is added to the alert message that is displayed when a
user launches a 32-bit app that is not optimized for their device
equipped with a 64-bit processor.
All these warnings are a sign that iOS 11 could be 64-bit
only, which does not bode well for certain apps, and in
especially games that still work perfectly under iOS 10.
Since iOS 10, do you regularly use games or apps that display
a message relating to the potential slowdown of the machine?
