What's new for iOS 12.5.6?
iOS 12.5.6 arrives with security patches closing major flaws, according to Apple. Flaws which have already been corrected by iOS 15.6.1 earlier in the year, for devices supporting iOS 15. These are two problems in fact, targeted here. The first allows a hacker to execute code on the mobile machine withhighest administrative rights. The second affects the WebKit web engine, underlying the Safari application and all third-party iOS browsers, and allowsto inseminate malicious code on its target.
iOS 12.5.6 therefore allows all iPhones and iPads supporting iOS 12, but not compatible with iOS 13, to gain in security with these two patched flaws. These are the following products: iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air, iPad mini 2 and iPad mini 3. The 6th generation iPod touch is also affected by this update.
