We also know that the Californian company and more particularly Tim Cook is seduced by technology and in particular the idea of ​​mixed reality (virtual objects superimposed on reality).

MacRumors therefore reveals that it has found different information in iOS 13, which may refer to augmented reality glasses.

First of all, there is the presence of an app called “STARTester”, which has the particularity of offering the activation or deactivation of a “head-mounted” mode.

In addition, a text file mentions a functionality called “StarBoard” which could support stereo augmented reality and therefore certainly dedicated to an accessory to be worn in front of the eyes. In other lines of code in iOS 13, there are options for this StarBoard feature, including references such as “AR”, “scenes”, and “views”.

According to MacRumors and its findings, the code name used by Apple for these augmented reality glasses would be “Garta”. The project would integrate a more general program called “T288”.

Apple is banking on augmented reality
