iOS 15.1: already a first beta version (public)

Update: Public beta is available. See below for instructions on how to install it.

Last Monday iOS 15.0 and iPadOS 15.0 were released. If the new features of these OS were announced during the last WWDC in June 2021, some of them are not yet news. Versions 15.1 of Apple's mobile OS should correct the situation and bring some still missing changes. This is also the case for watchOS 8.1 and tvOS 15.1, which, like iPadOS 15.1 and iOS 15.1, are available in a first beta iteration for developers.

Here are the changes that have been spotted for these new updates, in addition to the classic bug fixes and security improvements:

  • SharePlay :new function which allows several users in the same FaceTime discussion to simultaneously consult media content, films, series, music, as we havedetailed here
  • Health :ability to include health information in the Cards app, such as test results and COVID-19 vaccination certificates, for quick and easy presentation. To see if this will work with the European health pass

If you spot any other changes, bugs or features, don't hesitate to let us know in the comments!
