iOS 15.2 beta reveals a new software feature

In the source code of beta versions ofiOS 15.2, a surprising new mention has been detected and never seen in previous iterations of the OS: “SportsKit”.

“SportsKit” would be in line with other “xkit” developer tool suites, such as HealthKit, AppKit or UIKit. This would allow app creators to integrate new functionalities into their software, linked, you guessed it,to sport.

Still, this casts a wide net: we can imagine live monitoring of sports content, match scores, for example, but also user monitoring of sports activities that is more in-depth than what current tools on iOS already allow.

According to the experts and specialists of the Californian firm, the first hypothesis is the most probable: Apple would like, with SportsKit, to offer developers the possibility of integrating into their apps and servicesnew sports event tracking features.

Note that this SportsKit framework would concern Siri, tvOS but also iOS, and that it is currently inaccessible to third-party developers.Only Apple teams would have access to it, for in-house applications and services, therefore, initially in any case.

We can't wait to see what it's all about.
