iOS 17: these 4 features we expect

Tick tock tick tock. The time ofWWDCwhich will be held from Monday June 5 to Friday June 9, 2023 is fast approaching. As always, this event will allow Apple to unveil its new operating systems. Looking forward to,rumors are riferegarding iOS 17. Our colleagues atMacRumorshave precisely obtained information from a source that they present as reliable. Here's what we take away from it.

A remodeled control center

Since iOS 11, the Control Center has not really been revised and has only received minor updates. This could change this year with a redesign of this tool. We could notably see a new design on the latter, and it should also be more customizable according to your needs.

New options for Dynamic Island

It was one of the real good surprises on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max before being extended to the entire iPhone 15 range. Dynamic Island will continue to evolve according to our colleagues. Apple could notably add certain additional features, notably the Siri icon.

Other application stores

This measure only concerns the European Union, but it is very important. Under a future regulation which will soon be put in place this year and applicable in 2024, Apple will be required to let its customers access third-party application stores outside of the App Store.

To manage this change, the Apple brand will have to implement security controls for applications downloaded outside of its store. This could involve installing a tool comparable to Mac Gatekeeper which would stop the installation of apps dangerous to security.

New on CarPlay

This embedded version of iOS for vehicles should have a fairly welcome new feature that will give more control over vehicle functions: speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge. We can also expect that access to controls for air conditioning and heating will be manageable from this tool.

In addition to these significant new features, iOS 17 will also be an opportunity for Apple to remedy various bugs observed in previous versions, and to better take into account certain security risks.
