The third developer beta of iOS 18.2has just arrived on compatible iPhones. Obviously, it serves above all to enrich Apple Intelligence, which will not arrive in French until April 2025. Rest assured, the public version of iOS 18.2 will not only include features linked to artificial intelligence. For example, a new parameter will help you rmake your iPhone quieter. iOS 18.2 will also be able to tell youwhere you heard music thanks to Shazam's Song Recognition.
Shazam gets geolocation on iOS 18.2
Song Recognition by Shazam allows, as its name suggests, to find songs whose names you do not knowwithout even needing to install the Shazam application (purchased by Apple in 2018) on your iPhone.iOS 18.2 makes the tool even more advanced since it now includes a geolocation function. If you enable it, Shazam will be able tosave the location where you first discovered a title.
The “history” tab provides access to the list of songs recognized by Shazam and it is by clicking on a title that you will see precisely where you identified it. Note that there is not (yet) a map to have an overview of all the places where you have asked Shazam to recognize a song. The MacWorld media, author of this discovery, indicates that by tapping on the name of the place in the details of the discovered song, users are redirected to the corresponding location in the Apple Maps app.
The moment and place when a song is first discovered can be fraught with meaning. This is enough to keep this memory potentially dear to you directly in your iPhone. Moreover, Memories is precisely the name of an Apple Intelligence function thanks to which you can create a small film made up of photos and videos from a simple description.
