iPhone 15 Pro Max: it's not as fragile as people say

By launching its iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, Apple unveiled a new titanium element. The latter is supposed to provide more solidity to the phone. However, the first returnsare sometimes very negative, like the test carried out by the YouTube channel JerryRigEverything which found cracks on the smartphone when trying to bend it with its hands.

As the images went viral, another test was conducted by Consumer Reports and can be seen in this video posted to TikTok. And there, surprise, the experts did not notice any cracks during their supposedly more rigorous test.

Concretely, Consumer Reports used a compression testing machine and applied a pressure of 100 pounds or approximately 45 kg over the entire length of the smartphone. The latter bent somewhat before straightening up. Once the maneuver was completed, the experts did not spot any cracks.

Far from stopping there, analysts evaluated the iPhone 15 Pro Max on their drop test machine. In detail, the device is dropped on a stone base 100 times in a row. And again, no damage was found on the phone.

Of course, this doesn't invalidate JerryRigEverything's video, but it is an important complement to his findings. As a consumer, it is advisable to cross-check the tests and not take a single evaluation at face value. This is what we try to do oniPhon.fr by relaying the different bell sounds.
