We are slowly but surely getting closer to the Keynote on September 12. That day, Apple is expected to round the corner with an event during which we should find out more about a brand new range of iPhones. Without risking too much, we can already think that it will be iPhone 15 taking over from the iPhone 14 released in 2022. Except that, if the 15, 15 Plus and 15 Pro models do not cause any disagreement on the subject of their name, for the 15 Pro Max model, it is more complex. Mark Gurman came a few hours ago to clarify the situation, providing aother vital information for those who appreciate lightness.

iPhone 15: Ultra, not for now

According to the Bloomberg analyst, Apple should not this yearnot take out iPhone 15 Ultra. The man would have heard of confirmation of the Pro Max nomination for the most expensive of the new models. Thus, the range would follow that of last year, with 4 variations: 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. The rumor of an “Ultra” iPhone emerged a few weeks ago,supported by Mark Gurman among others. It was then, according to the specialist, for Apple to use the Latin qualifier for the machine positioned at the top of the iPhone range.

According to the source, Apple would not have abandoned the idea. An iPhone 16 Ultra could be released next year.

iPhone 15 Pro: featherweight category

Mark Gurman not only adjusted the point about the name, but he also provided details on another important characteristic of any smartphone: weight. It ensures that the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Maxwould weigh 10% less than the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro Max respectively. Here are the figures then obtained:

• iPhone 15 Pro :185g (21g less than the 14 Pro)
• iPhone 15 Pro Max :216g (34g less than the 14 Pro Max)

Apple would therefore have put the iPhones on a diet this year. Compared to the 14 Pro, the 15 Pro would lose the weight of its soul, the equivalent of around 4 sugar cubes or 3 €1 coins. For the 15 Pro Max, count on around 5 to 6 less sugar cubes or 4 to 5 €1 coins.

This may not seem like much to some of you, but you should know that if Mark Gurman is right here, the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max would bethe lightest “Pro” labeled iPhones in Apple history.
