In theory, everything was very clear for the diffusion ofKillers of the Flower Moon, the highly anticipated next film from Martin Scorsese. Indeed, the feature film which will star Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, and Robert De Niro, was to be released in theaters for a limited time in the United States from October 6.
Apple reviews its copy
But Apple, in partnership with Paramount, decided to review its plan. Concretely, the film will be released in theaters from October 20, for a worldwide release (October 18 in France). Once this broadcast, the duration of which we still do not know, has ended,Killers of the Flower Moonwill be offered to Apple TV+ subscribers on a date which is also unknown.
In any case, this will be a very good move achieved by the Cupertino company. It is indeed estimated that this feature film is one of the main cinematographic events of this end of year and it should obtain numerous awards. Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are legends of the seventh art, so movie-loving subscribers to the service should not shy away from their pleasure.
As a reminder,Killers of the Flower Moon tellthe history of the native Osague tribe. Large quantities of oil are discovered on their territory, which enriches the local population. But, very quickly, this windfall attracts unscrupulous businessmen, and creates tensions between the inhabitants.
Our lucky colleagues fromHollywood Reporter, who have already seen the film, reported in their review:“The three-and-a-half hour length is fully justified in an ever-escalating tragedy that never loosens its grip – a sordid illustration of historical erasure that has echoes in today's political issues , which bitterly divide..”
If you subscribe to Apple TV+, are you looking forward to this film, or are you targeting other content? Feel free to give your point of view in the comments.
