Apple has marketed iPhones every year since the release of the first model in 2007. In more than 15 years, these iterations bring us today to the iPhone 16, which is expected to be released next September. Although iPhones are sold every year by Apple, not all of them impress the public in the same way.
Many devices have thus enjoyed particular popularity, often thanks to the addition of a new functionality. The biggest change in this regard can be found on the iPhone X. This smartphone, presented by Tim Cook's teams in September 2017, is the first to integrate Face ID, andin fact, to abandon the home button, a signature element of the iPhone until this date.
The iPhone X, AirPods and HomePod are “vintage”
But 7 years later (yes already) the iPhone X is no longer in Apple's books. On the contrary, the smartphone has just been reclassified by the Apple brand. For a few days it has become“vintage”. A name given to all products which are no longer marketed by the apple brand. Above all, this means that in-store repairs are no longer possible, as Apple no longer ensures the production of spare parts for its devices.
In addition to the iPhone These are theFirst generation AirPodsas well as the very first HomePod. Like the iPhone X, they were marketed by Apple several years ago (2016 for AirPods and 2018 for HomePod).
As with the iPhone X, Apple no longer provides spare parts for repairs. These three devices remained in this “vintage” state for a few years before being categorized as “obsolete” by Apple. A name which brings together all the products which have not been sold for at least 7 years by the apple brand.
