The design of the Apple TV app has changed, on the eponymous box

If you installed tvOS 17.2 in beta, you probably noticed that the Apple TV app has been modified. The developer has completely revisited the navigation system within the platform, which allows access to numerous streaming content. Now, as you can see in the images below, a menu placed on the left provides access to the main shortcuts of the app.

It includes the search tool, as well as an option to access the MLS Season Pass for those who have subscribed to it. As a reminder, this subscription allows you to watch football matches in which American teams participate – including that of Miami with nothing less thanLionel Messi on display. With this, it is also in this new side pane that channels such as those of CNN or CBS are listed.

Why not update tvOS now?

To update tvOS to version 17.2 now, you must be registered in Apple's beta program. Then, you must install the dedicated profile on a compatible Apple TV. However, as this is an advanced edition of the operating system, it probably contains some rather annoying bugs which have not yet been resolved by the developer. This is why it is not recommended to keep up to date at this time.

The final version, however, should be more stable. But we don't know when this will be available. It's generally only a matter of weeks, at most: patience, therefore.

Apple TVs compatible with tvOS 17.2

Thelist of Apple TVs compatible with tvOS 17and its variations have already been communicated by the manufacturer. We of course find all the models available in the Apple Store today, but not only that. So all gray box models released in 2015 and after are also eligible for updates.

Other new features have just been presented by Apple for its iPhones, withiOS 17.2 (beta 1) arriving at the same time. There is also an improvement in the interface for the Apple TV iOS app.
