The land of the rising sun is often entitled to special attention from Apple. This is easily explained by the fact that the majority of smartphones used there are iPhones. The latest data collected byStatCounterin this regard reveal that iOS had 67.75% market share in Japan in June 2023. For comparison,France had more than 2.4 times less in 2022. Uncle Sam, for his part, crossed the 50% milestone in 2021.
All this to say that Japan is far ahead in terms of iPhone usage. Which sometimes means they are rewarded with exclusive offers from Apple, particularly during the Japanese New Year. A special AirTag as a gift, but not for everyone
Apple is giving away an AirTag to the first 50,000 people who make an eligible purchase. This only applies to the iPhones mentioned above (iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 13, and iPhone SE). The latest smartphone from Cupertino is also not part of the offer, nor are the Pro and Pro Max versions of the models offered. This is generally the case with this type of promotion, where manufacturers take the opportunity to sell off certain stocks by not offering discounts on their flagship products. Some also deplore the fact that Apple does not offer this type of offer in other countries.
