Update – January 17:Other sources confirm that the
"dark" mode is also present in several appsas
Stock Market, iBooks, Safari, or even Clock, see the new screenshots
added to the article.
While a “dark” mode was expected for iOS 10,
Apple has ultimately not announced anything regarding this black & white mode
during the WWDC 2016 keynote, the summary of which isavailable
ici, however any hope of seeing such a mode land in iOS is not
lost.
Indeed, Andy Wiik, a developer specializing in jailbreaking, has
found a "dark" mode in the application files
Messages, he wrote a small program to force the activation of this
"night" mode and run it on the Xcode iOS simulator.
This is what it looks like:
It seems that this "dark" mode is not quite ready for a
availability in the first beta of iOS 10, Apple may add this
functionality when it is ready in a future beta of iOS 10 or a
next version of iOS (e.g. 10.1 or 10.2).
Another possibility is that this mode is reserved for an iPhone with a screen
OLED which would get better use of it in the longer term, black allows
to obtain energy savings with an OLED screen because the pixels are not
lit.
Could this night mode appeal to you?
