Headaches, black eyes or neck pain: this is what many users of theApple Vision Pro mixed reality headset, Right now. In any case, this is what we see according to several articles published by our English-speaking colleagues, or on the Reddit social network forum dedicated solely to the pointed mount. This was released on February 2 in the United States.
Details all the same as thetestimonies like thisare not new at all. Early users had regretted that the comfort of the Apple headset did not really live up to their expectations, which can be understood given its exorbitant price. In its defense, the manufacturer specifies that the Vision Pro only has – in theory – a battery life of around two hours. But it is possible to use an external battery to last longer. And since the manufacturer also sells its product as a computer replacement, the criticism is understandable. You can probably work all day on your Mac, but doing the same with augmented reality is still a feat.
The solution is already on the way!
The good news is that Apple seems to have understood all these drawbacks. Another mixed reality headset created by the company would thus be in the pipeline. This model would notably bemuch more comfortable, but also more affordable. The counterpart? Declining performance. The screen could in particular be of lower quality, which would seriously reduce the price, given that the panel is the most expensive component of the Vision Pro. We can also bet on a chip that is slower than a future high-end model, but that is just our own guess.
In the longer term, Apple would also like to marketconnected glasses, necessarily more pleasant to wear throughout the day thanks to a much lighter format. But it will still be necessary to successfully integrate powerful batteries into the branches, without this causing pain at the back of the ears. Simple surgical masks already cause them. Another challenge also awaits the Apple firm: that of avoiding overheating. This is the biggest downside of the first models of Google Glass.
In several years, Apple could also presentconnected lenses. As with the glasses, however, no release date has been leaked yet: we are still very far from a possible formal marketing.
Release date soon?
Coming back to the current Apple Vision Pro, know that it should soon have a release date for the rest of the world. The schedule would be confirmed before the Worldwide Developer Conference, according to researcher Ming-Chi Kuo, who is closely followed by investors who have bet on AAPL stock on Wall Street. France is notably one of the first countries to be entitled to helmets, after Uncle Sam.
For the most curious, the Apple Vision Pro is already available in France, for several thousand euros on eBay or on Le Bon Coin. You can also rent the device for a few hours, for a few tens or hundreds of euros this time.
Count3 499 dollarsin the United States, a price which could be converted into almost 4,000 euros for the European continent. For comparison, the more affordable Apple Vision headset could be priced almost half as much, according to recent rumors.
- Apple Vision Pro causes headaches and is believed to be the cause of a black eye
- The headset is really not comfortable over time, it seems
- A more affordable version could see the light of day by 2027, and would also be much more comfortable
