Without fanfare, Apple has
changed an important threshold yesterdayjust before release
d’iOS 7. This is themaximum size
authorized for mobile downloads.
Thus, while the App Store and the iTunes Store did not previously allow
download apps, videos and other content from over 50 via 3G or 4G
MB, this limit is now positioned at100 Mo.
The benefit is obvious, certain applications (increasingly more demanding)
can therefore beeasily purchased and downloaded or updated
wherever we are, but someprecautionsare at
take :
It is indeed better to be warned because the thresholds of our operators, at least
less in France, in terms of data consumption per month do not necessarily have
evolved in tune. So, if you were used to the previous threshold of 50
MB to limit your downloads and not explode "Fair Use",
so be careful.
But that's not all, becausewith iOS 7, a news
very practical function has appeared: thedownload
automatic application updates. Except that if you have a
consumption threshold at 1 GB and you download 10 apps at 100 MB…
That's it for the month.
Don't panic, for those who want to avoid this problem, iOS 7 has it all
planned: a parameter to be positioned makes it possible not tonot allow
automatic downloads in 3G/4Gand thebook at the
liaison WiFi.
If you are concerned, then check it in Settings, section "itunes
Store and App Store": at the very bottom "Cellular data" allows you to accept
(green button) or not (button remains white) 3G/4G download of
bets and other content checked above. Normally, this should be ok
default, but if you've played with it, it's better to know the new threshold.
