A clear reference to what seriously resembles the name of a new Apple operating system has just been discovered within the source code of the App Store. Black and white, it says “realityos“, which obviously echoes the latest advances from the Apple brand in terms of augmented reality and virtual reality.
For the moment, although it is perhaps ARKit on the iPhone, the different technologies on which Cupertino is working are still secret. But severalpatentsfiled by the firm in the United States clearly show that it is considering a product similar to the Oculus Rift or the HTC Vive,as we can for example see in these diagrams.

A metaverse in preparation?
Unfortunately, it has been impossible for the developer behind this information to find out much more about the potential contents of this software. He just assumes that asimulatormay already be available to some, but again this is probably a benefit that only internal Apple tech teams can test.
Concerning possible functionalities, speculation is also rife. This is not a first
A mention to “rOS” had already been spotted by the magazineBloomberg, as early as 2017. Since then, Mark Gurman, one of the site's journalists specializing in the subject,also regularly reports news about Apple's possible mixed reality headset. There would only be a few months to wait before seeing the item arrive in store... Patience!
