Apple has just made available to developers a new advanced edition of macOS Monterey, numbered 12.1,while we already thought we would have a finalized version this Wednesday. However, we do not know what else it contains, but the time between the two versions being relatively short it is probably security patches or bug resolutions.
Since this is a versionrelease candidate, we are banking on a release of macOS 12.1 for the general public by next week. Most often, Apple chooses Tuesday to release its updates. It was also this date that saw Monterey arrive for the first time on computers.
iOS 15.2 RC 2
On the same day as macOS 12.1 RC 2, Apple also rolled out a second RC for iOS 15.2 that can be installed by those enrolled in Apple's developer beta program. No additional features seem to be included here either, a sign that some flaws in the system may have been detected just after RC 1.
This version, as we recall, brings several welcome changes to iPhones that are equipped with it. Their users have the possibility of knowing when their device was repaired, and if it was repaired with components whose origin is validated by Apple. iPadOS 15.2 RC 2
Finally, Apple has also released the second RC of iPadOS 15.2 which, to put it simply, is a large screen version of iOS. Tablets in fact have most of the same advantages, sometimes with a few more options but which do not seem to be discussed here.
Of course, let's also remember that it is important to know the risks when installing a beta. This can cause technical incidents that could seriously slow down the system or degrade its experience, which therefore encourages you to only download it on hardware dedicated specifically to this type of test.
