In 2020, Apple confirmed the many rumors circulating on this subject by unveiling its programsiliconwhich has since equipped its computers with proprietary CPUs (actually made by TSMC). Its new family of high-end processors, nicknamedTiger Lake, is thus based on a Willow Cove Core architecture engraved with a precision of ten nanometers. And according to its latest tests, this component would achieve better results than its headed competitor. Scores obviously need to be qualified as it is easy to play with the benchmark parameters.
The numbers
So, by converting for example a PowerPoint file - the equivalent of Microsoft's Keynote - into PDF, a computer running Tiger Lake would be here2.3 times fasterthan a Mac M1. And if for games the evaluation turns out to be less significant, Intel points out that many titles are simply not published for macOS.
