Artificial intelligence is moving into high gear right now. You may already use ChatGPT to write written requests, for example, or to find certain information quickly. Well OpenAI, the company behind this chatbot, has been the subject of much speculation in recent days.
According to information from The Verge, the company is preparing anew version even more efficientof its AI for December. OpenAI, however, denied these rumors via a spokesperson, without giving further details.
Clues that intrigue
Microsoft would be the first to take advantage of this new feature. The IT giant's engineers are already preparing to welcome this new model on their servers from November. This launch would be different from previous ones: instead of being available directly to all ChatGPT users, the AI would first be reserved for certain well-chosen partner companies.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has fueled these rumors. In a message posted on X, he talks about his impatience to see the winter constellations rise soon. A barely hidden enigmatic reference to the project's code name: Orion.
i love being home in the midwest.
the night sky is so beautiful.
excited for the winter constellations to rise soon; they are so great.

Internal changes
OpenAI is going through turbulent times. The company has just collected$6.6 billionwith investors, but several of its key executives have recently resigned. Among them are technical director Mira Murati and research manager Bob McGrew.
These departures come after a company executive reportedly mentioned an AI 100 times more powerful than the current one. This new version would be distinct from o1, the latest model released in September. OpenAI would ultimately seek to combine its different technologies to create even more efficient AI, capable of reasoning.
It remains to be seen how OpenAI intends to manage all of this. The company estimates that its deficit amounts to5 billionThis year. This is, as a reminder, due to infrastructure and personnel costs which are costly to the company. To get back on track, Sam Altman's firm is considering an option that risksnot pleasing users!
