This new Apple Plans comes at the right time for the Paris Olympics

This week is definitely one of all the changes for iPhone users in Paris. While the Île-de-France region has just announcedthe long-awaited arrival of the Navigo Pass in the phonefrom the brand to the apple, the latter also has innovations under its belt.

This is particularly the casemetro, bus, RER and tram timetables, now presentlive and updated in real timein the Apple navigation app. There will therefore no longer be any difference between what is displayed on your iPhone and what you see on the information panels at the edge of the platforms, even in the event of delays on the tracks.

To differentiate between “scheduled” schedules and those updated live by Apple, the Plans application has a new icon. The latter, green in color, takes the form of a wifi logo. It lets users know that this is the actual waiting time before the next metro or RER train. Buses and trams also benefit from this functionality.

With the arrival of this new feature, Apple Maps is catching up some of the ground lost on Google Maps, which has already been offering this feature to its users for years. With the Olympic Games and millions of tourists approaching, Apple understood that its navigation service had to be as complete as possible in the capital.

The apple brand has also understood the importance of displaying live timetables rather than the indications given “in normal times” by the RATP, the latter often proving to be far from reality. This functionality, present in the iPhone, is also arriving onl’Apple Watchvia the Apple Maps app installed locally in the watch.
