Three Pro Dispaly XDR screens on the way to Apple?

@dylandkt, a Twitter user often well informed about what goes on behind the scenes at Apple, would have heard of the preparation of new devices ordered by the brand from LG. Nothing very surprising so far, given that the company appears to be one of the main screen suppliers of the Apple firm.Just behind BOE which has just regained second place on the podium, Samsung remaining the figurehead.

According to the informant, whose identity is still unknown, LG is currently testing three white-label external monitors with respective dimensions of twenty-four, twenty-seven and thirty-two inches. Suffice to say the exact sizes of the two iMacs on sale to date and the Pro Display XDR, a screen also marketed by Apple for several thousand euros but without Monterey.

Apple silicon under the hood!

If that wasn't enough, @dylandkt also adds that a proprietary processor appears to be fitted to the larger panel. However, we know that Apple decided more than a year ago that in-house chips would be the standard on its future devices. We already have the right to it on tablets, iPhones and Macs, however nothing has yet been announced regarding computer accessories.

Currently, the Pro Display XDR external screen (which therefore has a diagonal of thirty-two inches) does not include a GPU. Its next version could nevertheless improve drastically by integrating a graphics card, which would then increase the potential performance of the beast. The current edition costs 5,499 euros with standard glass versus 6,499 euros with a nano-textured layer.

Thread 4/4: This of course does not rule out the possibility of custom silicon for these displays. It simply means that there is no sufficient data proving otherwise. Finally, the 32 inch and 27 inch monitors seem to have miniLED displays and a 120hz variable refresh rate.

Small models at reduced prices?

As seen above, LG would therefore also design two more compact monitors. But although they correspond to the sizes of current and planned iMacs, the absence of Apple silicon chips inside seems to prove that these will not be all-in-one computers but rather simple external screens. Probably more affordable versions therefore, because with a technical sheet apparently less efficient at least on paper.`

What do you think of this strategy, if it is proven?A WWDC is probably planned for this coming June, and could be the opportunity to discover these devices in images for the first time.
