Equipped with a technical sheet which looks very similar to that of its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro should still be differentiable due to its absence of notch. Instead of this intruder, Apple would have finally chosen to get up to date with a simple “punch“, as already offered by mobiles such as the vivo V19.
But unlike figures of the genre such as the Galaxy S21 5G (Samsung) or the Xiaomi 12, the size of this eyelet should bequite wide. It would therefore not be a simple circle around the lens, but a more elongated oval. A necessary evil to integrate the biometric unlocking sensor? Probably, even if facial recognition works very well without the competition.
What to expect?
Kevin Clark, in charge of user experience at Shopify, had the idea of sharing on his Twitter accountmodelsof iOS taking into account this famous “pill”. If you have an iPhone 12 Pro or an iPhone 13 Pro in your hands, just open the images one by one to perhaps see the design of the next model.

The trick of course also works with the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the iPhone 13 Pro Max, but not with the mini. Indeed, Apple is supposed to abandon the format with a diagonal of 5.4 inches by the end of the year.Its sales would not have managed to take off, despite a value proposition appreciated by small hands and the smallest budgets looking for performance.
Note that the “classic” and “Max” iPhone 14, measuring 6.1 and 6.7 inches respectively – but without a triple lens on the back – should retain thenotch.
Software changes planned
If the hardware technique for surrounding the front camera with the touch display now seems to have been mastered by most mainstream manufacturers, another question remains unanswered. Will Apple manage not to respond?the errors of the newly arrived notch on MacBook Pro? To do this, itsdeveloperswill have to work hand in hand with publishers on iOS.
