Last night took place one of the major events of the year for Samsung, the “Unpacked” conference. During this, the South Korean manufacturer lifted the veil on various new products, includingGalaxy S20, S20+ et S20 Ultra, but also the foldable Galaxy Flip Z smartphone, as well as a new version of its wireless headphones, theGalaxy Buds+.
We will see the details of the S20 series in this article.
S20 Ultra: the ultimate cameraphone?
The Galaxy S20s all have in common the integration of 5G and a 120 Hz OLED screen. The design is also similar, with on the front, the panel pierced with a single hole at the top to make room for the front photo sensor, and on the rear, a block of 4 sensors: 12-megapixel wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle, 64-megapixel telephoto lens and time-of-flight sensor for the S20 and S20+, and up to 108 megapixels for the wide-angle of the S20+ Ultra.

The latter also stands out for its “space zoom” function combining optical and digital zoom, and allowing magnification up to x100. The S20 and S20+ are limited to 30x zoom. All three models can shoot up to 8K. Our colleagues from Presse-citron directly delivered theirGalaxy S20 review here, etthe S20 Ultra here. For those who want to compare, here is acomparison Galaxy S20 vs S20+, and anotherbetween the Galaxy S20 and the iPhone 11 Pro.
3 screen sizes and other features.
The Galaxy S20 has a screen diagonal of 6.3 inches, the S20+ 6.7 inches and the S20 Ultra 6.9 inches. Samsung has announced that they are taking advantage of a new feature called “single take”, which allows, like Live Photos, to take some sort of animated photos. Augmented reality is obviously also there.

These three new smartphones are unsurprisingly certified waterproof (IP68) and compatible with Qi wireless charging. Their power is underpinned by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip and 12 GB of RAM for the S20 and S20+ (8 GB in 4G version), and up to 16 GB for the S20 Ultra model with 512 GB of storage.
The S20 comes with 128 GB of storage space, and for the S20+ and S20 Ultra, there is a choice of 3 different capacities: 128, 256 and 512 GB. In all cases, the storage is expandable via micro port -SD.
As you will have noticed, 4G versions of the S20 and S20+ will also be offered, at a lower price and with only 8 GB of RAM.
