The equipment specialist
Emtec IT,on
saw it in this article, has just launched a whole range of products for
smartphone. The iPhone can thus be accompanied by the “Power Bank Pouch”, a
pouch with battery
on sale here, from the “Power Tree”, a car charger with two USB outputs
marketed there, from the "Roll Charger", a travel outlet that offers
USB ports and serves as a cable winder.
But today, we are exclusively interested in apetite
batterywhich fits in the pocket andplugs into iPhone
when the need arises. Labeled “Made For iPhone”, it
is calledPower Clipand carries an electricity reserve of
2600 mAh :
Discovered in image, test result and opinion:
Once the packaging is opened, two small instructions (in French) and a cable
micro USB accompany the battery which appears rather compact, with only
a Lightning jack protruding from the top.
The red dot on the top is not a button, as it is
one might believe. It's just the signature of the brand on this
range :
The battery has a level display using LEDs. This one is useful
when she is in charge, to know where she is. But this display
becomes even more important when you leave with the battery in your pocket, to
know if it is still charged!
The supplied micro USB cable, which plugs into the socket hidden by a
cache :
Battery charging completedon a standard socket thanks to the
iPhone USB charger takes about 4 hours.
When the need arises, the battery plugs into the iPhone via
the Lightning jack. This is one of the specificities of this solution in the face of
sticks and other larger capacity pocket chargers, there is no
need to carry extra USB cable. The battery in your pocket is enough
to help you out wherever you are.
Inversely, the lightning plug is very shortlike we
can see it in the photos, that means it can't be used
in all cases with protection. Especially when the iPhone is
protected by a shell which surrounds the lower part of the machine.
The battery clips on and holds quite well (like the USB cable), it is
thus possible to use the iPhone to make calls or surf the web
net.
The shape may surprise at first glance, but in fact it allows you to pose
the iPhone on a table even when charging without it being
wobbly.
In terms of recharging, the test was carried out using machines that were completely
empty (to the point of having gone out), here are the recharge times and the level
reached :
For aiPhone 6:
- after 1h15, the iPhone had reached 50% charged
- after 1h30, the iPhone gauge showed 70%
- the battery was drained after 2 hours and the iPhone was 96% full
We can say that the battery offers a full charge.
Regarding theiPhone 6 Plus, which carries a
much larger internal battery (and therefore requires less of this type
accessory), it is a recharge of approximately 60% which could be achieved during
des tests.
Conclusion
For those who want to leave without fear of running out of battery during the
day without taking too much weight (60 g), Emtec offers an effective solution,
assertive design that will please you or not, but which has the merit of integrating the socket
Lightning and therefore not requiring an additional cable. The battery
has the essential LEDs for displaying the remaining level and offers
aalmost complete charging of an iPhone 6. Practical and
effective.
Only one drawback, the higher price than a solution with a simple exit
USB, an additional cost probably linked to the Made For iPhone label,
which if it reassures, imposes an additional cost on manufacturers (The
same battery with micro USB socketnot subject to payment linked to the
MFI certification, is sold for approximately 12 euros less..)
The iPhone Power Clip battery is on sale hereat the price of 45 euros
environ.
In terms of competition, we hadtested
the Mili Power Angel 2which has the advantage of protecting the socket
lightning with a cache, but above allintegrate the charging cable
USB. On the other hand, thecapacity is less, All
like the price.
