Test of the “Glas T Premium”: an iPhone screen protection glass (video)

You probably remember the glass protection
Glas T Premium
, a signed protective glass
SGPthat we present to youin this post.

I was able to test numerous protective films (Zagg, Wrapsol, Bodyguardz and
electrostatic films) and none convinced me. Dust passed
through the films after several days of installation when they do not
did not scratch in less than a week.

The idea of using a window with the properties announced by the
constructor was tempting and inour series of tests
iPhone accessories
(already 75 on the clock!), here is my feeling after 10
days of use:

Let's start with the packaging which looks a bit like a book and which is
strong enough to avoid any disappointment when opening the package
(glass required).

Its contents are complete: The window protected by 2 small films of
each side, itself in a small cardboard case, an alcohol swab
and a microfiber cloth to clean the iPhone screen as well as 6
"Home" buttons to stick in epoxy (2 black, 2 white, 1 green and 1 pink).

The big difference with a traditional protective film is the rigidity
of the glass: therefore, the installation will have to be done vertically to the screen. THE
film is very well cut and leaves 0.1mm of margin around the Home button and
the speaker output if it is difficult to center it well.

On the other hand, once installed, the window cannot be removed for a period of time.
new pose, which immediately puts pressure on you.

Personally, I buy basic films (€5 for 20 on eBay) which I
serve as a pre-installation film. I remove them at the last moment and
check that no dust remains and I take advantage of the adhesive part of the
film to remove dust that does not want to leave.

Then, the glass being rigid, you can easily take it from the 4
corners in order to best place it above the screen. Once this is done (this
which was less hard than expected in the end), you just need to press
center of the window so that it sits quietly. No more worries
bubbles and, if a small bubble remained (which was my case), it will disappear
within 24 hours.

Once the installation is done, which is always the most delicate part when
of putting a film on, it's just a joy.

The window is completely forgotten. It feels like you're using the screen
the iPhone directly without any loss of brightness. In addition, touch
"glass" is reminiscent of Apple glass and the glide is light and I have never experienced
the slightest tactile problem even when lightly touching the glass.

Another very pleasant point, the Glas T window marks very little. I who don't
does not support fingerprints, I was clearly impressed by the
glass processing. Even with slightly sweaty fingers, the glass does not mark
or the union minimum where the original Apple glass marks
a lot.

Yes, the glass is 0.4mm thick but frankly, it's not visible. I
Was worried that the Home button would be too deep (and I have a big thumb)
well not at all, I didn't feel any discomfort. However, for those
those who might be bothered by it, you will have 6 epoxy Home buttons at your disposal.
disposition.

This thickness also reassures if my iPhone were to fall on
the screen especially as the glass will not break into sharp pieces and will remain
fractured on the screen (like a windshield).

On the other hand, the thickness of the glass will make the use of certain cases
problematic. Shells in 2 parts that fit together like theMuvit shell tested herewill not accept
not the 0.4mm of the window, especially since they already have difficulty accommodating a
simple film. On the other hand, for more flexible cases, in silicone for example,
or shells that cover less of the screen like theSGP
Linear Case tested here
, that poses no problem.

My iPhone accompanied me for 10 days where I put it in my pockets and
even sometimes with keys, which I never do but I wanted to test.
No scratches appeared. The glass treatment announced by the manufacturer and
presented in the following video seems to be up to the task.

In conclusion, even if the installation proves to be quite delicate, this protection in
glass lives up to the accessories manufacturer's announcements: Protection
effective against shocks which marks very little with a "glass" feel and which is
made to forget.

After having "tasted" this protective glass, I no longer want to hear
talking about screen protectors.

What do you think? Do you use protective films? In
are you satisfied? Or do you find these films unnecessary?
