French mediaKonbinihas just unveiled a new video, published on YouTube, where we rediscover the history of Siri through its creator,Luc Julia. Having not signed a confidentiality agreement, the engineer recounts his mixed career at Apple and explains how the company bought the assistant to remodel it in its own way.
The developer has since left the company to joinSamsungand now works in a laboratory of the South Korean brand dedicated to artificial intelligence, between Paris and the United States. He also obtained American nationality, as well as the Legion of Honor in France.

In the interview, Julia notably details how Siri was launched with only five services when it arrived on theiPhone 4sin October 2011. At the time, only restaurants, reminders, text messages, calendar and email were available via voice control. From, even Spotify can be controlled orally using the Apple Watch.
Despite everything, after its launch, the voice assistant would have been limited, while Steve Jobs saw it as a real everyday ally. The management of iOS led byScott Forstall(since converted into theater) until 2012 would thus be the origin of the delay that the service still experiences today compared to the Google Assistant or the Amazon Echo.
