WatchOS 10: the year of big changes?

For several weeks, rumors have been circulating regarding upcoming updates to the various OSes in the Apple ecosystem. Due to its popularity, iOS is probably the update that makes the most noise. Many analysts have also explained thatthe next version of iOSwill not be filled with big changes, Apple having primarily focused on stability this year.

Ultimately the major changes should be made to WatchOS. At least that’s what @analyst941 says in a new post on his Twitter account. Thisleakerwhich is starting to build a small reputation in the world of analysts has already seen several of its predictions prove correct.

WatchOS 10: an iOS clone on a watch?

According to its information, WatchOS 10 could mark the start of a new era for Apple's connected watches, just that. While Apple works a lot on the functionalities at the heart of its watches, the software has received few changes in recent years.

The changes made by Apple should therefore concern the “layout” as well as the “home screen grid”. These two sets have reportedly been extensively redesigned by Apple to make them “much easier to use” in the words of @analyst941.

According to him, the changes made by Apple's teams should help make WatchOS closer to what already exists on iPhones and iPads. This update will notably allow applications to be scrolled from top to bottom, forgetting the concept of a circle which is now omnipresent in the layout of applications.

A plausible solution?

The most significant change would then bethe arrival of the “files”to give users the ability to arrange applications among themselves. A few weeks ago this idea had already been talked about, notably in the different editions of Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter.

The journalist, however, gave much less detail on the developments to come in WatchOS 10 and leaves Internet users waiting for the announcements made by Tim Cook and his teams during the next WWDC. Apple met the whole worldnext June 5for the start of this very special week. The Apple brand should take advantage, like every year, of this meeting with developers from around the world to present the new versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS and therefore WatchOS.
