Delete a message in a group (administrators)

WhatsApp group administrators will soon be able to delete a message so that it is deleted from the mobile of all members of the conversation. For the moment, however, this solution is only available in versionbetaand on Android. You will therefore have to wait longer to be entitled to it on iPhone, without knowing exactly when the update in question will be deployed. Moreover, even onGoogle's operating system, it seems that the first testers do not yet all have access to this new feature, which is gradually arriving on their devices.

Extended deletion period

While until now it was only possible to delete a message sent on WhatsApp after one day, eight hours and sixteen seconds (don't ask us why, it's a mystery), this deadline has been extended. Now you can delete a message up tosixty hoursafter sending, two and a half days. All we have to do is hope thatmalicious internet users don't really take advantage of it.

Better hide your statusSeen at

On WhatsApp, in the menuSettings > Account > Privacyis located the sectionWho can see my personal information. This is where you have the opportunity to play on your statusSeen at, which tells your conversation partner at the top of each conversation when you were last online. Until now, it was only possible to choose to show this status to everyone, only to your contacts or to no one.

With the new WhatsApp update, another option has been added here:My contacts except… As you guessed, this is about showing me your statusSeen atstill only your contacts but with the added bonus of being able to exclude some of them. To do this, tap the option in question. Your contact list will then appear and you will just need to check those to whom you do not want to indicate that you are online.

Leaving a group discreetly

Coming back to groups, WhatsApp also offers a new advantage here too on the confidentiality side,as expected. This will allow you to leave a group without everyone else in the conversation being notified, which was not possible before. Instead, a bubble clearly indicated to them that you were leaving. Not practical when you don't want to arouse curiosity, especially when you know that WhatsApp supports up to256 usersin groups.

Please note, however, that theadministratorsof the group, they will continue to be informed when you leave it.
