Widgetsmith version 2.0: for even more personalized widgets in iOS 14

Widgetsmith is an iOS application released 2 months ago.As detailed in our columns, it allows you to create widgets for iOS 14 with many customization possibilities.

The app was a hit for weeks after its release and we saw on the internet numerous examples of personalized iPhone and iPad home screens, taking advantage of both Widgetsmith, but also theability to customize app icons via the Shortcut app.

It has been available for a few hours in version 2.0 withseveral interesting new features. The app now offersprebuilt themes, which can serve as a working basis to modify according to your tastes. Previously, you had to customize each widget independently from scratch. Numerous combinations of colors, widgets, fonts and icons are therefore proposed by the project development teams.

It is also possible to apply artistic styles to its widgets, adapted for example to the seasons of the year. These styles are currently few in number, and only accessible with the Widgetsmith premium subscription. But the developers have announced that they are working with professional designers to regularly add new ones.

In addition, note the appearance of a new RGB/HEX color choice tool.
