Videoconferencing has emerged as a very important feature since the start of the pandemic. This has not escaped Apple, which has decided to evolve its FaceTime application. The Cupertino company made a series of announcements in this regard this eveningat the WWDC 2021 Keynote this evening. A conference which also allowed the company to present important changes to iMessage.
Remove unwanted noise during calls
Concretely, we first note that Android and Windows users will now be able to join calls on FaceTime. They will have the opportunity to join the conversations via a link which will have been sent to them in advance by the organizer. This opens this service which was currently only accessible to devices on iOS and Mac.
For the rest, the Apple brand has announced the implementation of a voice isolation function in order to improve sound quality. Support for spatial audio will make encounters more immersive and remove unwanted noise. It will also be possible to blur your background using portrait mode.
Finally, and this is surely the most remarkable new feature: Apple is introducing the functionality called SharePlay. It will allow a group of people to watch or listen to the same thing at the same time and remotely. We can thus display series, films, or even listen to music.
