AirPods 3: new hint on noise reduction in iOS 13.2

Apple has just released the second beta of iOS 13.2 which includes a lot of interesting new features, which you can consultthe list in this article, for example the ability to change video settings directly from the shooting window.

We saw that the first betaincluded a new iconwhich showed the in-ear design of future wireless headphones, which could be the third generation AirPods or AirPods Pro.

Now the second beta includes a new clue, or rather a new animation on the volume button in the control center, with a switch that would enable and disable noise reduction on future AirPods.

Lines of code in iOS 13.2 indicate that these future AirPods would have two listening modes, a “focus mode” where active noise reduction is activated, and another mode where it is deactivated.

Deactivating active noise reduction can be used in the street, but not only, for example to hear oncoming cars, bicycles or scooters and avoid accidents.

A few months ago, the American newspaper Bloomberg also claimed that the next AirPods would have water and sweat resistance, like the PowerBeats Pro. This would allow use during a sports session, but also perhaps in the rain.

These new AirPods could be more expensive than the current version, and Apple plans to keep the current second generation in the catalog, in addition to the new model which would offer additional features.
