iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia: the release date is finally known

Last night, Apple unveiled new products during a Keynotesummarized here by us. After the conference and the announcements of the iPhone 16 and Apple Watch Series 10 in particular, we were able to discover the release date of several Apple software. Indeed, we now know that the following updates will be available for download for everyonefrom next Monday, September 16, possibly around 7:00 p.m. French time: iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, visionOS 2, tvOS 18 and macOS Sequoia.

This is a fairly classic date, in the sense that it is positioned between the Friday of pre-orders for the new iPhones, the 13th, and the following Friday of their release in stores, the 20th.

Moreover, September 16 wasone of our first hypothesesfor the iOS 18 release date.

What to expect from iOS 18?

We saw it inour article listing more than 60 new features brought by iOS 18, the pride of place will be given to AI Indeed, the new system integrates Apple Intelligence, a much more powerful assistant than Siri, capable of carrying out different tasks for you: generation of images, text, visual search in the photos, email classification, etc.

But there will also be more discreet improvements, for Apple applications for example (Notes, Passwords, Messages, Journal, etc.), the security of your device (hiding an app, blocking an app using Face ID, etc. ) or even its personalization (hide the names of apps on the Home Screen, personalize the Control Center buttons, etc.).

In our opinion, iOS 18 seems to be avery good vintage. Some might see this as too close to Android, with many options allowing customization of the interface, others welcome these changes with joy. For our part, after several months of testing, we arerather conqueredby the new features and the OS generally.

Notice to testers, what do you say?
