At the beginning of the month, an analyst from The BayStreet Research firm said that the iPhonewere experiencing production problems. This could lead to a delay of this model, which could be a strategic decision by Apple. To convert buyers interested in the LCD iPhone into buyers of a more expensive model.
And now a new report from analyst Katy Huberty of Morgan Stanley also suggestsa delay of the iPhone X LCD. According to its sources close to the production lines, it would bethe LCD screenthis iPhone whichwould cause production problems.
More precisely, the production chains would haveproblems with light leakswithiPhone X LCD backlight. However, it seems that this problem has been corrected, still causing a1 month production delay on schedule.
With each new iPhone model, it is common for there to be production problems related to the new features of the next generation of iPhone. But this is usually factored into the production schedule.
Apple has mastered the LCD display quite well, as it has been used in the iPhone for many years, however this year it isa new type of LCD display.
The latter will in fact adopt thesame shape as the OLED screen of the iPhone, but with borders of around 2mm, slightly thicker than on the iPhone X.
Other rumors suggestthat Apple would use new LCD technology, calledMLCD. This MLCD screen requires less backlighting power to display the same image and therefore saves energy. In addition, this allows the screen to offer even stronger brightness.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also saidin a previous report, that the LCD model due to the use of a different display could encounter production problems. However, he affirmed that this highly anticipated model should still be ready for September.
