The new iPhone 12 range should be presented as part of a virtual keynote normally scheduled for the beginning of September. During the latter, Tim Cook and his collaborators should tell us everything about the characteristics of the new smartphones. Until then, we can only trust rumors and analyst reports, which, despite everything, are persistent on certain points. There is in particular the fact that the iPhone 12 would come this yearwithout charger and headphones, while displaying increased pricing compared to the iPhone 11. This is what a new paper from TrendForce states. This is also not the first time that we have heard such hypotheses.
No charger, no headphones
The iPhone 12 would therefore come alone in its box, perhaps accompanied by a USB-Lightning cable, but in any case, without charger and without EarPods, according to the source. Ofprevious analyzes, dontcelle de Ming-Chi Kuo, already supported this point. But while one could doubt the reason for such a choice on the part of Apple, TrendForce affirms that it is goodthe financial attractionwho would have won his case. Not delivering a charger and headphones with the iPhone 12 would allow Apple to make significant savings.
A higher price
Because adding 5G to the range and switching to OLED for all models could be expensive. This is also why the new models should display an increased price compared to the previous generation. Here is what TrendForce predicts:
- iPhone 12 5.4 inches: $699 to $749 (809 to 859 euros)
- iPhone 12 6.1 inches: $799 to $849 (899 to 979 euros)
- iPhone 12 Pro: $1,049 to $1,099 (1,219 to 1,259 euros)
- iPhone 12 Pro Max: $1,149 to $1,199 (1,289 to 1,329 euros)
For the iPhone 12, it's about pricealready announced by analyst Jeff Pu. The range of the price increase would then be from 0 to €170 for the iPhone 12.
For the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max, this would be an increase of at least 60 and 30 euros respectively.
Let us note, however, that even if many specialists are considering a price increase, some informants are counting on a decrease,as Jon Prosser. Ditto for the absence of charger, which is not unanimousfrom Apple specialists. But the future of EarPods delivered in the box seems sealed.
