iPhone 16 Pro & Pro Max: Apple hid this detail from us

The complete technical sheet for the iPhone 16 Pro and the Pro Max model is starting to arrive on the web. After a nearly two-hour conference this Monday evening, it's time to dissect these new models down to the smallest detail. Although they were entitled to a detailed presentation withthe “It’s Glowtime” conferencethis week, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max still have many gray areas.

One of the notable changes in this edition is the modification of the weight of the devices. If Apple very quickly mentioned the change in size ofiPhone 16 Pro et Pro Max(going from 6.1 to 6.3 inches and 6.7 to 6.9 inches respectively) the Cupertino company was careful not to talk about the weight of these new iPhones.

A slightly heavier iPhone 16 Pro

And for good reason, the technical characteristics available on the Apple website do not really favor the latter. After all, with the iPhone 0.2 inches larger than last year, it couldn't be lighter. Concretely, the iPhone 16 weighs 199 grams. This is 12 grams more than the iPhone 15 Pro (+6%).

As for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the increase is even less visible. The device goes from 221 grams (iPhone 15 Pro Max) to 227 grams on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. A 2.5% change that will be very difficult to detect. The presence of a titanium frame on the iPhone Pro and Pro Max for two years has been a real challenge for Apple.

It has significantly reduced the weight of iPhones. For comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro Max weighs 240 grams. That's 13 more than the all-new iPhone 16 Pro Max. As a reminder, the iPhone 16 Pro will be available for pre-order from Friday. It will be in stores from September 20 at the price of1229€. The iPhone 16 Pro Max will be released on the same date, priced at1479€.
