The first reviews of Apple's Vision Pro have just been published on the other side of the Atlantic. While everyone recognizes that Apple's mixed reality headset is a very beautiful, well-finished product, it is far from triggering the long-awaited revolution. In its long article on the subject, the American media The Verge identifies several common problems which make the Vision Pro an imperfect device.
The long-term goal for Apple is to successfully integrateVision Pro screens on glasses, transparent, allowing you to not have to reproduce the environment around the user on the screen. But for now, this technology is still part of the world of science fiction.
Apple has therefore chosen to integrate cameras around its mixed reality headset to “reproduce” the external environment in real time. However, these cameras, as efficient as they are, have limits. In his test of the Apple headset, journalist Nilay Patel notes that certain sudden head movements can cause motion blur in the background.

An image, not always real
He also notes that the image can distort at times or that it can lose resolution quality when the ambient light is low. Furthermore, the color reproduction is said to be good, although the contrasts are not always as marked as in reality.
The last point that bothers the journalist in this first test is the limitation of the field of vision. Indeed, Apple's headset displays large black bands at the edges of the screen, demarcating the visible from the invisible. According to Patel's test, the horizontal field of vision of the Apple Vision Pro would be less than the 110° offered by Meta's latest headset, the Quest 3.
Apple released its Apple Vision Pro for pre-order on January 19. The Cupertino company has since passedmore than 200,000 devices.
