A unanimous verdict: M4 Max impresses

First observation, the jump in performance is there, in particular for the M4 Max chip. As TechCrunch points out, thegain is striking compared to the M3 Maxon applications like Premiere Pro. Under DaVinci Resolve, the references are clear: only the Mac Studio M2 Ultra and a few muscular PC configurations manage to keep up.

Welcome improvements, a rising price

Beyond the numbers, testers appreciated certain additions, such as thenano-textured anti-glare screen. For The Verge, this extra billed at 170 euros by Apple is a game-changer for those who like to work outdoors. Therewebcam 12MP avec Desk Viewalso seduces, despite apparently perfectible quality.

The only downside unanimously noted was the increase in prices. Count4699 eurosfor the most powerful MacBook Pro M4 Max. The general opinion is clear: if you are a video or 3D pro and your MacBook Pro M1 (or a lower model) shows its limits, go for the M4 Max. But for others, a MacBook Air M3 will do the job, for example, at a much more affordable price. As a reminder, the MacBook Air M4 is planned for next year.
