Survey result: your preferences for the iPhone 8, finish, memory capacity and preferred size!

The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
have been available for a few days already, and it will soon be the turn of
iPhone X by the end of the month. For these first models available, like
each year, we wanted to know what the share of each
variation in terms of model and storage capacity
using a new survey
.

The question of the chosen color is still relevant and allows us to see the
developments from year to year in this area. This time, however, the choices
were more restricted than in 2016 for the iPhone 7, both in terms of GB
than in hull finishing. On the way to this year's results!

Model and storage

The favorite model this year isiPhone 8 Plus in 64 GB,
choice of nearly30% of buyers. He is followed shortly by
the iPhone 8 Plus 256 GB and the 4.7-inch 64 GB model come close with a score
28% each.

. The modelless popularis the iPhone 8 256 GB, with
lowest score:14 %.

If we are interested in the comparison iPhone 8 versus iPhone 8 Plus, it is the
big screen modelwho wins with a score of58
%
, compared to 41 for the 4.7 inch version.

In terms of capacity, your choices are oriented towards64 Go
obviously, up to58 %.

Choice of color

Here again, like the choice of capacity, Apple has limited the
possibilities. Only3 colors are available this year,
compared to 5 last year for the iPhone 7.

And without too many surprises, it’s the “Space Gray” variation that wins
the most successful, with a score of64 %, compared to 21% for
Silver and only 14% for gold delivered 2017.

Analysis and comparisons

  • Small or large models?

Regarding the choice of model first of all,
last year
, the Plus version of the iPhone 7 received 48% of the votes.
It was therefore behind the 4.7 inch model. This year, the trend seen
for several years now continues, namely the size of the machines
purchased tends to increase. The Plus model takes the lead by gaining around 10
points from one year to the next, to recover in total59 %
votes.

Suffice it to say that Apple has rather hit the mark by releasing its smartphone in these
two screen sizes for a few generations already, since the Plus model
now seems, in your opinion, more popular than the classic model. He would have
been difficult to predict such success a few years ago, but to this day
the iPhone Plus sitsits number 1 positionfacing the iPhone
4.7 inches.

  • 64 ou 256 Go?

On the storage side, it's more surprising. Indeed, mon
our previous surveys
had shown needs regarding the
memory up to128 Go. We could then have imagined that
buyers would turn to a new iPhone with at least 128 GB,
or this year, the 256 GB version of the iPhone 8.

But the figures presented here indicate the opposite. Next to60
%
of iPhone 8 buyers preferred a 64 GB model.

Two major points to remember in relation to this: on the one hand, the
previous survey considered approximate needs linked to intentions
purchases, on the other hand, the price was therefore not necessarily taken into account,
unlike the present case, where these are buyers who have already paid their
iPhone.

In this case, some probably needed 128 GB, but
probably revised their analysis downwards to be satisfied with the iPhone 8 64
GB, which still displays 170 euros less than the 256 GB model.

Perhaps the price aspect would have made the difference?

  • Choice of color:

Finally, regarding the choice of colors, Jet Black and Black are no longer
proposed, it is theSpace Gray which wins the prize for the best finish
most popular
, it is also the one that comes closest to the
dark colors offered last year and still popular.

It will be interesting to see what the numbers will be in response to these two
same questions, with regard to the iPhone X, an iPhone which,
during another survey
recovered the most purchasing intentions in the face of
other models still present in the range, including the one at number 8.

We will then not fail to offer you a survey on the subject again
by next month, knowing that iPhone
October 27.

In any case, thank you to everyone for participating and thank you to those who
do not hesitate to share their opinions and impressions in the comments.
