Orange CEO speaks about his relationship with Apple and mobile competition

In an interview given to the site
AllThingsD, Orange CEO Stéphane Richard dwells onthe
relationship of his company with Apple since the arrival of Tim Cook in
orders
.

At the same time, he takes the opportunity totake stock of the
smartphone market
dominated largely by iOS and Android and which
according to him, he really needs the arrival of a third thief:

According to Stéphane Richard, under the Tim Cook era "Apple has become less
arrogant". Facing fierce competition, Apple probably "under
pressure" was able to become "more flexible" and madepay more attention to the
relationship with its partners
.

Asked about new mobile OSes like those from Microsoft, Mozilla or
BlackBerry, Orange CEO says "there probably won't be room
for everyone". He adds, however, thathe hopes that a third
actor will manage to make his mark
.

According to him,Microsoft is very far from competing with iOS and
Android
. He adds that devices running Windows Phone
are neither the cheapest nor the best and do not offer a
more pleasant user experience than that of iOS and Android. For
Stephane Richard,Windows Phone 8 is a good system, but lacking
cruelly with a 'wow' effect
. He makes the same observation forsmartphones offered by
Nokia
.

He ends by saluting the work carried out by BlackBerry which unfortunately,
may not be successful.

Who do you see as the third OS? BlackBerry, Windows Phone, Firefox
OS… ?
