The engineers behind the Oura smart ring have just revealed some welcome changes, compatible with existing models. To begin with, know that the publisher now offersnew complications for Apple Watch. These include a lot of key information from the wearable, such as its battery level to avoid running out of power or details about your sleep. As a bonus, it is possible to display activity graphs on the screen of your watch, to know if you are doing enough physical effort to stay in shape.
With this, Oura also offers to provide adetailed history of your body temperatureduring the last four weeks. Is it really useful, knowing thatl’Apple Watch Ultraalready has a built-in thermometer, which even works underwater? It's up to you: the price of the ring is314 eurosfor the Heritage version, the most affordable available on its official website today. When ordering, customers can choose between several colors, including silver, black or gold.
New on your iPhone too
Oura also benefits fromnew features of iOS 16, thanks to awidgetadditional which is now available on equipped iPhones. This one comes to settle on thelocked screenand allows you to know in real time your number of steps taken during the day. The display takes the form of a circle to complete, which is reminiscent of the design of the activity rings on Apple Watch.

To benefit from these improvements, you will need to have installed the latest version (4.9.1) ofthe Oura companion app. This is accessible on the App Store and is completely free. Several languages are available: French, German, English, Spanish, Finnish, Japanese or Italian. You must have nearly 350 MB of free space on your internal storage to install the platform.
The watchOS app is updating
As a bonus, Oura has also completely overhauled its companion app for Apple Watch. This is intended to be your ideal health coach on the wrist, with a minimalist interface where you can notably follow yourheart rateand its breathing rate. As the ring does not currently have any screen, it is necessary to read the data collected elsewhere. We don't know if Oura plans to one day offer an improved version of its accessory with a small panel, but it would still be wise.
