Yesterday, Apple announced new versions coming for iOS, watchOS, but also macOS, like every year at the same time.See our WWDC conference summary here. The new version of the OS for Mac is calledCatalinaand should be released in the fall. But not everyone will be able to benefit from it. Here is precisely thelist of Apple computers compatible with macOS Catalina:
iOS 13 leaves a few iPhones behind, but macOS 10.15 does the same with a few Macs. Here are which ones will be able to install macOS Catalina:
- MacBook: early 2015 and newer
- MacBook Air: Mid 2012 and newer
- MacBook Pro: Mid 2012 and later
- Mac mini: late 2012 and newer
- iMac: late 2012 and newer
- iMac Pro
The list is almost the same as for macOS 10.14. Let's just note the disappearance of the 2010 Mac Pro for macOS Catalina.
