Rumors: no iPhone redesign in 2019, end of screen cutout in 2020?

For a number of years, iPhone design refreshes were done on a two-year cycle. But that changed with the iPhone 6. Apple now operates on a slightly longer cycle of 3 years.

This is a trend that would be confirmed according to a new report from Forbes newspaper. He claims that Apple would not haveno plans to change the design of the iPhone before 2020. The next iPhone design couldno longer have a notch.

According to the Forbes report, Apple has planned a redesign of the iPhone for 2020. The Californian firm could abandon the notch in favor of a screen that covers almost the entire front.

She would plan to usea design with a hole in the screenfor the front camera, a bit like Samsung's latest smartphone, the Galaxy A8s. This design would be found in the Korean firm's next flagship models.

This design provides a larger screen surface to the user. However, this would break the symmetry of the device, an important point in the design philosophy of Apple products.

To adopt this new aesthetic, however, Apple would need specific display technology from Samsung. Except that the Korean giant would not yet be ready to share it with competitors.

It will probably favor its own models initially, before offering it to other manufacturers. Apple should therefore wait its turn to integrate it and offer a new iPhone design.

We would be moving towards an iPhone model in 2020 which would have a new design and would also be thefirst iPhone to integrate 5G.
