Amongthe list of all the new features of iOS 14, App Clip is currently one of the most discreet. Its principle consists of offering a quick playable overview of an application, but without having to download it. For example, if an Internet user inquires about a restaurant and wishes to order via a flashcode displayed in the room, the latter then redirects to a popup to choose the desired dish.
In reality, this is not a simple web page but rather a preview of the brand's official application. After testing it, the user can then choose to download it entirely to their iPhone if they wish. The video below - in English - shows very well how certain developers can take advantage of it as a real flagship product:
Shazam on iOS
In December 2017,Apple bought the Shazam music detector. According to certain specialist sites, the amount of the acquisition would be around $400 million. Since then, some changes have taken place, the most notable of which is within the Control Center. In fact, there is now an icon dedicated to Shazam which you just have to click on to recognize a sound being played. You can then go about other activities while listening is in progress in the background, which does not deactivate it: practical.
When the track is then identified, a notification appears on the screen. By clicking on it, the Shazam app opens and all the details you are looking for (artist, album, streaming platforms where it is available) are displayed.
How to use App Clip?
With the new Shazam App Clip, the process is a little different. Indeed, when you touch the notification bubble, a pop-up window appears at the bottom of the screen. It is here, by touching the Open button, that the App Clip launches, quite quickly since it weighs only a few MB.
Otherwise, by clicking on the App Store icon, you are automatically redirected to its Shazam page. All you have to do is install it to take full advantage of all the additional information regarding music.
Shazam now has an App Clip which essentially installs 10MB app to give you a taste of the full apppic.twitter.com/wNNjAtc1m6
