Test of the ShoulderPod S1 photo support for iPhone and other smartphones: professional equipment!

Any
iPhone user who wants to take more professional photos and videos, will have to
invest in a support that holds up and then attach it to a
tripod which allows for the best possible stability, and therefore
to get razor-sharp photos and shake-free videos.

There are a whole bunch of low-end iPhone holders for a few €,
however I have had numerous returns of iPhones which fell from the support with
resulting in a broken screen. This is what pushed me to invest in a
serious and normally reliable support, theShoulderPod S1, the
reference in the professional field.

The ShoulderPod S1 is soldhere on Amazon for around 32 euros.

After numerous uses here is a review of the details and the
conclusions on this support:

The support is really space-saving, because it fits in a small bag (no
provided). It is made up ofthree elements, the
jawwhich holds the iPhone in place, ahandle
rounded metal
to screw below the jaw. It allows
to use the support as a grip and awrist strappour
avoid dropping the shoulderpod (and iPhone) when held in
main.

The jaw that holds the iPhone can accommodate smartphones with a
widthranging from 48mm to 93mm, namelyall the
existing iPhone models
, even with a protective shell.

Once the iPhone is in place in the jaw, simply tighten it
with a wheel to turn.

In our tests, once the iPhone is seated in the jaw, it does not
does not move a bit, and there is no risk of damaging the iPhone case, because the
two tips that hold the smartphone are made of soft rubber which adheres well
to the shell.

The grip with the handle is very pleasant, and allows with the thumb
take photos or start recording a video. The tip which
screws underneath is quite heavy (metal) and of a rounded size adapted to the
palm of the hand. Result, the hold is good and precise. The difference with
the lightness of grip of the iPhone alone is striking. This reduces shaking
or involuntary movements.

The strap which is fixed between the tip and the jaw also allows you to hold
the whole without the risk of everything falling to the ground if we let go
inadvertently.

The underside of the jaw, where the tip was attached, offers a step of
visstandard for tripod, in order to screw the support onto
any compatible photo accessory. There are many. Here he
is used with a Manfrotto table stand (in
sale here
), but a photographer's stand can of course be used depending on
needs and context.

Note that it is also possible to use the ShoulderPod as
travel supportwhen it is placed on a table with
Choose landscape or portrait orientation.

The ShoulderPod support/grip exudes solidity, and thanks to its very
great ease of useand has the reliability of holding, we
understands why it's the pros' favorite accessory for shooting video
(YouTube or others) and take photos.

In conclusion, aexcellent multifunctional supportoffering
a very good grip with the handle, and above all it holds well
firmly in place without risking it falling to the ground.

The ShoulderPod S1 is soldhere on Amazon for around 32 euros.

  • very solid support
